Distinctive Ringing
This machine feature lets you use the Distinctive Ringing subscriber service offered by Telstra's
®
FaxStream Duet, which allows you to have at least two separate telephone numbers on the one
phone line. Each phone number has its own Distinctive Ringing pattern, so you know which phone
number is ringing. This is one way you can have a separate phone number for your MFC.
Your MFC has a Distinctive Ringing function, allowing you to dedicate one phone number just for
receiving faxes.
You can switch it off temporarily, then turn it back on. When you get a new fax
number, make sure you reset this function.
• To have your external TAD answer only the main number, the machine
• In FAX/TEL (F/T) or FAX ONLY mode, the machine will answer all numbers
Set the Distinctive Ringing to ON

Disconnect the MFC from any TAD or telephone company voice mail.

Set the MFC to Manual mode.

Press Menu/Set, 2, 0, 2. The screen displays the current setting of this feature.
