● If the battery and back pack power supply are charged while it is heated because
it has been left for a long time in a location subject to direct sunlight or because
the battery and back pack power supply have just been used, the pilot lamp of the
charger lights up green. In such a case, fi rst let the battery and back pack power
supply cool, then start charging.
● When the charge status fl ickers in red (at 0.2-seconds intervals), check for and
take out any foreign objects in the charger's battery connector. If there are no
foreign objects, it is probable that the battery, back pack power supply or charger
is malfunctioning. Take it to your authorized Service Center.
● Since the built-in microcomputer takes about 3 seconds to confi rm that the battery
and back pack power supply being charged with UC36YRSL is taken out, wait for a
minimum of 3 seconds before reinserting it to continue charging. If the battery is
reinserted within 3 seconds, the battery and back pack power supply may not be
properly charged.

BEFORE USE

Check the work area to make sure that it is clear of debris and clutter.
Clear the area of unnecessary personnel. Ensure that lighting and ventilation is adequate.

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION

CAUTION: Pull out battery or back pack power supply before doing any inspection
or maintenance.

Check the screws
Loose screws are dangerous. Regularly inspect them and make sure they are tight.
CAUTION: Using this battery charger with loosened screws is extremely
dangerous.
2. Check for dust
Dust may be removed with a soft cloth or a cloth dampened with soapy water.
Do not use bleach, chlorine, gasoline or thinner, for they may damage the plastics.
3. Service parts list
CAUTION:
Repair, modifi cation and inspection of Hitachi power tools must be carried out by
a Hitachi Authorized Service Center.
This Parts List will be helpful if presented with the tool to the Hitachi Authorized
Service Center when requesting repair or other maintenance. In the operation and
maintenance of power tools, the safety regulations and standards prescribed in
each country must be observed.
