4. Remove:
Cylinder head
• NOTE:
• Slacken the bolts in the correct indicated sequence.
• Slacken each bolt of 1/2 turn at the time. Once all the bolts
have been slackened, remove bolts 1, 2, 4 and 6, then remove
the cylinder head with bolts 3 and 5 inserted in their holes.
1. to delete:
• Carbon deposits from the combustion chamber (with a rounded
scraper)
• NOTE:
• Do not use sharp objects to avoid damaging or scratching:
• Spark plug hole threading
• Valve seats
2. Check:
• Cylinder head
• Damages/scratches
• Cylinder head water jacket mineral/rust deposit
3. measure:
• Cylinder head deformation
• Not conforming to specifications
Deformation limit 0.03 mm (0.0012 in)
a.
Place a checking ruler "1" and a feeler gauge "2" transversally
on the cylinder head. (see fig. 06)
b. Measure the deformation.
c. Check if limits are exceeded, surface the cylinder head as fol-
lows.
d. Place damp sand paper of 400-600 grain on a surface plane
and surface the cylinder head with a movement like an eight.
• NOTE:
• To obtain a uniform surface, rotate the cylinder head several
times.
