Collegare il cavo (20) del lettore
ottico, alla porta COM1 (M) del
Mathesis. Fissare la staffa di
supporto del lettore ottico utilizzando

la vite (21) di fissaggio del coperchio
copricinghia. Direzionare il led verde
centrale del lettore ottico verso la
parte centrale del tratto della cinghia,
posizionando il lettore in asse rispetto
alla cinghia e ad una distanza di circa
1÷1,5 cm . Sollecitare leggermente la
cinghia con un dito e leggere il valore
della frequenza della sua oscillazione
(Hz) sul Mathesis.

Se il valore della tensione non è
corretto, allentare le viti (22) di
fissaggio della puleggia distribuzione

sulla flangia. Tendere o allentare la
cinghia, operando sulle viti (23) e (24)
di fissaggio dei tenditori mobili.
Alzare manualmente il tenditore
mobile (25) per tendere la cinghia,
viceversa abbassare il tenditore
mobile (25) per allentare la cinghia.
Se il blocco motore è stato rimosso
dal telaio per operare sul tenditore
mobile, è possibile utilizzare
l'apposito attrezzo di tensionamento
(26) dotato di spintore (N).
Ruotare lo spintore (N) in senso
antiorario per tendere la cinghia,
ruotarlo in senso orario per allentare la

cinghia.
Serrare la vite (23), la vite (24) e le viti
(22). Sollecitare leggermente la
cinghia con un dito e leggere il valore
della frequenza della sua oscillazione
(Hz) sul Mathesis.
Se il valore non è corretto, ripetere
l'operazione descritta sopra, mentre
se il valore è corretto, accertarsi che
le viti (24), (23) e (22) siano serrate alla
coppia prescritta (Sez. C 3).

Connect the lead (20) of the optical
reader to port COM1 (M) of the
Mathesis tester.
Fix the optical reader bracket using
the retaining screw (21) of the belt
cover.
Aim the green LED of the optical
reader at the center of the portion of
belt you are checking. The optical
reader must lie in the same axis as
the belt at 1-1.5 cm distance.
Flick lightly the belt with a finger and
then read frequency value (Hz) on the
Mathesis tester.
Note
Do not flick several times, as
the MATHESIS tester needs at least a
second to read the value.

If the belt is not correctly tensioned,
loosen the screws (22) securing the
timing belt roller to the flange.
Turn mobile tensioner retaining
screws (23) and (24) to stretch or
slacken the timing belt.
Lift the mobile tensioner (25) by hand
to stretch the timing belt or lower it
down to slacken.
If you have removed the engine block
from the frame to work on the mobile
tensioner, you may use the special
tension tool (26) with pusher (N).
Turn the pusher (N) anti-clockwise to
stretch the belt or clockwise to
slacken.
Tighten the screw (23), screw (24)
and screws (22).
Lightly flick the belt with a finger and
then read frequency value (Hz) on the
Mathesis tester.
If the belt is not correctly tensioned,
repeat the above procedure; if
correctly tensioned, ensure that
screws (24), (23) and (22) are
tightened as specified (Section C 3).
