(3) Firmly tighten the 6 mm knob bolt so secure the
turntable. On the side opposite of the angle calibration
markings on the turntable, there are the incline
calibration markings on the turntable, there are the
incline calibration markings. For example, when the
3/10 incline marking is aligned with the triangle mark
at the base, the b/a of the part of the material to be
cut will be 3/10 as shown in Fig. 5.
CAUTION
Never remove the 6 mm knob bolt; use of the tool
without it would be hazardous.
To prevent an accident or personal injury always firmly
tighten the 6 mm knob bolt.
NOTE
Positive stops are provided at the right and left of the
0° center setting, at 22.5°, 45° right and left settings.
Check that the miter angle scale and the tip of the
“ ” mark are properly aligned.
Operation of the power tool with the angle calibration
marking and “ ” mark out of alignment, or with the
6 mm knob bolt not properly tightened, will result in
poor cutting precision.
9. Bevel cutting procedure (Fig. 2)
(1) Loosen the tension lever and bevel the saw blade to
the left.
(2) Adjust the bevel angle to the desired setting while
watching the bevel angle scale and indicator, then
secure the tension lever.
(3) Perform cutting as described in 7.
WARNING
When the workpiece is secured on the left side of the
blade, the short cut-off portion will come to rest on
the right side of the saw blade. Always turn the power
off and let the saw blade stop completely before
raising the handle from the workpiece.
If the handle is raised while the saw blade is still
rotating, the cut-off piece may become jammed
against the saw blade causing fragments to scatter
about dangerously.
10. Compound cutting procedure
Compound cutting can be performed by following the
instructions in 8 and 9 above. At a bevel of 45° and a
miter angle of 45°.
WARNING
Always secure the workpiece with the right hand side
for compound cutting.
Never rotate the turntable to the right for compound
cutting, because the saw blade might then contact the
clamp or vise that secures the workpiece, and cause
personal injury or damage.
11. Cutting long materials (Holder is optional accessory)
When cutting long materials, use an auxiliary platform
which is the same height as the holder and base of
the special auxiliary equipment. Insert the holder in
the hole on the left side of the base and secure. (Fig.
6)
Adjust the holder upon inserting so that it is the same
height as the base. (Fig. 7)
After adjusting the height of the holder use the
securing 6mm knob bolt to secure the holder.
CAUTION
When transporting or carrying the tool, do not grasp
the holder.
There is the danger of the holder slipping out of the
base. Grasp the handle instead of the holder.
