    1. SAFETY 1.1. General safety notes. 1.1.1. The operator of the machine is responsible for, and has a duty of care in making sure that the machine is operated safely and in accordance with the instructions in this user manual. Keep the manual safe and pass it on if the machine loaned/sold to another user.

    5. OPERATION 5.1. Operating the HYLS4000H. 5.1.1. This log splitter is equipped with a control system that requires the machine to be operated by both hands of the user- Left hand controls the hydraulic control lever while right hand controls the pushbutton switch.
  • Page 13 Never force the log splitter for more than 5 seconds by keeping pressure on it to split excessively hard wood. 5.2.3. After this time interval, the oil under pressure will be overheated and the machine could be damaged. For such extremely hard log, rotate it by 90° to see whether it can be split in a different direction.
  • Page 14 5.5. Replacing hydraulic oil HYLS4000H. 5.5.1. Replace the Hydraulic oil in the log splitter after every 150 hours of use. Take following steps to replace it. 5.5.2. Make sure all moving parts stops and the log splitter is unplugged. 5.5.3. Unscrew Oil Drain Bolt with Dipstick to remove 5.5.4.

    5.7. Recommended oil. 5.7.1. Following hydraulic oils or equivalent are recommend for the log splitter's hydraulic transmission system: 5.7.2. SHELL Tellus 32 5.8. Sharpening wedge 5.8.1. After using the log splitters for some time, it will need sharpening. Sharpen the wedge of the log splitter by using a fine-toothed file and smooth any burrs or crushed area along the cutting edge.

    8. PRODUCT DISPOSAL 8.1. Should it become necessary to dispose of your machine please contact your local authority for the disposal advice, or take unit to your local recycling centre. 8.2. You MUST make sure that all unused oil, fuel and batteries are disposed of correctly either beforehand or at amenity centre.
