13.5.4. PIPING CONNECTION

- For RAS-5 HP
§ Confirm that the valve is closed
§ Prepare a field-supplied bend pipe for liquid and gas
line. Connect they to the liquid and gas valve by flare
nut through the square hole of bottom bore.
§ Solder the bend pipes and field piping
- For RAS-8,10 HP
§ Confirm that the valve is closed.
§ Prepare a field-supplied bend pipe for liquid line.
Connect it to the liquid valve by flare nut through the
square hole of bottom base.
§ Prepare a field-supplied bend pipe for gas line. Solder
it and the factory-supplied pipe flange at the outside of
the unit.
§ Connect the pipe flange to gas valve with the factory-
supplied gasket through the square hole of Bottom
Base. Do not use the gasket that had been attached
to the unit.

§ Solder the bend pipes and field piping.

- For RAS 16, 20, 24 & 30 HP
§ Confirm that the valve is closed.
§ For liquid pipe connection.
- In case of 16, 20 & 24 HP, prepare a field supplied
pipe for liquid line and connect it to the liquid valve
pipe. Connect it to the liquid valve by flare nut
through the square hole of bottom base.
- In case of 30HP prepare a field supplied pipe for
liquid line. Braze it to the accessory pipe with
factory supplied flare nut and connect it to the liquid
valve pipe. Connect it to the liquid valve by flare nut
through the square hole of bottom base.
§ For Gas Piping Connection
- In case that the size of the Field-supplied pipe is
the below indicated, field-supplied pipe can be
connected to the elbow pipe directly.

the below indicated, connect the field-supplied pipe
after attaching the reducer (factory-supplied or field-
supplied) to the pipe flange.

- In case that the size of the Field-supplied pipe is
the below indicated, connect the field-supplied pipe
after cutting off the end part of pipe flange which is
for connecting the bigger size recommended for
this Outdoor Unit.

- Soldering work must be performed outside of the
unit.
- In case of the gas piping connection from the front
or rear, use the pipe flange (Factory-Supplied) and
the elbow pipe (factory-supplied or field-supplied as
indicated in subchapter 13.5.1).
