NOTE:
bus adapter severely degrades performance. Also, if any SE devices are on the same parallel
SCSI bus, all of the devices on the bus slow down to SE speed, which severely degrades
performance.
The library is NOT compatible with a standard differential (Diff) or high-voltage differential
(HVD) SCSI bus.
Verify that your HBA is supported by the host computer and qualified with the library. For
current HBA compatibility information, see the BURA Data Agile Compatibility Matrix at
www.hpe.com/info/ebs.
If one of the ports on the device is not connected to another parallel SCSI device, the port
must be terminated. Only the devices physically located at the beginning and end of the
parallel SCSI bus should be terminated. Refer to the manuals supplied with the other devices
on the parallel SCSI bus for information on enabling or disabling termination on those devices.
To terminate the second parallel SCSI port on the device, locate the terminator in the
accessories package and press it firmly into either of the two parallel SCSI connectors
on the back panel. Secure the terminator by tightening the finger-screws until snug. The
supplied terminator is "dual mode" and works on both Low-Voltage Differential (LVD)
and Single Ended (SE) SCSI buses. Check all parallel SCSI and power connections
and confirm that the unit is attached to a valid SCSI SE or LVDS bus.
