Polled transmit
(Monochrome only)
Polled Transmit is when you set up your
machine to wait with a document so another
fax machine can call and retrieve it.

Setup for polled transmit

Make sure you are in Fax mode

Load your document.
c
Press Menu, 2, 2, 6.

Press a or b to choose Standard.
Press OK.
1.Doc 2.Memory

Do one of the following:
Press 1 to leave the documents
waiting in the ADF.
If you want to use the ADF before
your machine is polled, you must
cancel the job.
Press 2 to scan the document into
the memory.

The LCD shows:

1.Yes 2.No

Press 2 and press Mono Start.

secure code

Secure Polling restricts who can retrieve the
documents you set up to be polled.
Secure Polling only works with Brother fax
machines. If another person wants to retrieve
a fax from your machine they will have to
enter the secure code.

Enter a four-digit number.
Press OK.
