16. POWER SUPPLY UNIT

16.1 Construction

The power supply unit consists of the AC filter, insulation type DC output circuit, heater lamp control cir-
cuit and damp heater power supply circuit.
1) AC filter
Eliminates noise from the outside and prevents the noise generated by the equipment from leaking
to the outside.
2) DC output circuits
Converts AC voltage input from outside to DC voltage and supplies it to each electric part. The DC
voltage is divided into the following two lines.
a. Main line:
Power supply used in the entire equipment during image forming process.
Five kinds of voltage (+3.3V, +5.1V, +12V, –12V and +24V) are output when the
main switch of the equipment is turned ON.
b. Door switch line :Power supply used in the entire equipment during image forming process, being
supplied via the door switch. Two kinds of voltage (+5.1VD and +24VD) are out-
put only when the main switch of the equipment is turned ON and two doors
(front cover and transfer guide) are closed.
3) Heater lamp control circuit
TRC (Triac) is driven by the heater control signal (HTR1ON/HTR2ON) from the LGC board and then
AC power is supplied to each heater lamp (center and side) in the fuser unit.
4) Damp heater power supply circuit
AC power input from outside is output directly to the FUS board and then supplied to the Damp
Heater in each section in the equipment. The Damp Heater (including the FUS board) is an option in
NAD/MJD model, and is installed as standard device in other models.
