Use flushing plug.
1 Remove propeller (refer to Propeller
Replacement). Remove the water
plug from the outboard motor, and
screw in the flushing plug.
2 Attach a water hose to the flushing
plug. Turn on the water and adjust
the flow. (Be sure to seal the water
inlet and sub water inlet, located in
the gear case, with tape)
3 Insert a hose connected to a water
tap into the flushing plug and let
the water running.
4 Put the shift lever in the neutral
position and start the engine.
5 Make sure of cooling water flowing
out of water pump indicator hole
and continue engine running for 3
to 5 minutes.
6 Stop the engine and water supply.
Remove the flushing plug and
tape, and then reinstall the water
plug and the propeller.
