Selecting a Mode

Preferred or Automatic Modes
When you select a preferred mode, your phone
looks for that type of service first. If it cannot find
your preferred service, after about five minutes, it
switches automatically to your non-preferred
service. If the phone switches to a non-preferred
service, it checks at regular intervals (every 30
minutes) to see if your preferred service has
become available. The exact intervals that your
phone switches modes and checks for preferred
service varies depending on your SIM card. Check
with your service provider.
Keep in Mind: The phone postpones a switch
between modes while you are in a call or are
actively using one of the phone's features.
Always or Manual Modes
If you select an always mode, your phone always
accesses that type of service. If you become out-of-
range in that mode, the phone does not switch to
the other type of service. You have to manually
switch it to the other mode by changing the settings
in this menu.
