Set the minutes in the same way. “OFF”

Use the JOG dial to set the hour you
want the system to turn off and press
ENTER/NEXT.
Set the minutes in the same way.

Press POWER to turn off the system.
The power will go on 15 seconds before
the preset time and the volume level is
automatically set to the minimum.
To change the preset timer settings
Start over from step 1.
To check the preset times settings
1 Press TIMER.
2 Press t SELECT and use the JOG dial to
select “REC”.
3 Press ENTER/NEXT.
The preset items appear in the display
sequentially, then the original display
returns.
To cancel the timer
1 Press TIMER.
2 Press t SELECT and use the JOG dial to
choose “TIMER OFF.”
3 Press ENTER/NEXT.
The timer indicators disappear from the
display.
If the power is on at the preset time
The sound source will automatically
change to the tuner, but tuner recording
will not start.
Notes
•You cannot set the timer so that the timer
ON and OFF times are the same.
•You cannot activate wake-up timer and
timer-recording at the same time.
•The timer operation starts 15 seconds
before the timer ON time, if you perform
another operation during that period, the
timer operation may not be performed
correctly.
Connecting Optional
Equipment
For greater enjoyment of your stereo
system, you can connect other components
to the stereo. You can connect:
•a VCR
•an MD recorder
•a turntable
•a super woofer
•headphones
Connecting a VCR
By connecting the audio outputs terminals
from your VCR to the AUDIO IN terminals
on the rear of the stereo system you can
enjoy your videos in powerful stereo
sound. Make sure you connect the plugs to
jacks of the same color.
By connecting the AUDIO OUT and VIDEO
(or S VIDEO) OUT terminals to the input
terminals on your VCR, you can record the
audio and video signals from VIDEO CD
and CD-G on video tape. See the operating
instructions supplied with your video deck
for details.

To listen to sound from the VCR
Press FUNCTION repeatedly to select
“VIDEO”.
If you cannot select “VIDEO” by pressing
FUNCTION
Select “MD” and turn the power off. Then,
press POWER while holding down
FUNCTION.
“MD” will be switched to “VIDEO”.
To return to “MD”, repeat this procedure.
Connecting an MD or DAT
Deck
You can record from the various sound
sources of the stereo system to an MD or
DAT deck in analog sound. Make sure you
connect the plugs to jacks of the same color.
You can listen to the sound from the MD
deck by pressing FUNCTION repeatedly to
select MD.

“MD”.
If you cannot select “MD” by pressing

Select “VIDEO” and turn the power off.
Then, press POWER while holding down
FUNCTION.
“VIDEO” will be switched to “MD”.
To return to “VIDEO”, repeat this
procedure.
Note
You cannot record the sound effects created
by “music menu”, “DBFB”, or “GROOVE”
with analog recording from the AUDIO
OUT jacks. However, you can record the
sound created by “KARAOKE PON/MPX”
and “surround effect”.
