(11) Adjusting the margins for scanning an original on the contact glass

Perform the following adjustment if the margins are not correct.

<Caution>
Check the copy image after the adjustment. If the image is still incorrect, perform the above adjustments in maintenance
mode.
<Procedure>
Start
Enter maintenance mode.
Enter 403 using the numeric keys.
Press the start key.
Select the item
to be adjusted on the touch panel.
Press the interrupt key.
Press the start key
to make a test copy.
Are the margins correct?
Yes
Proceed to another mode?
Press the stop/clear key.
Exit maintenance mode.
End

A MARGIN: Scanner left margin
B MARGIN: Scanner leading edge margin
C MARGIN: Scanner right margin
D MARGIN: Scanner trailing edge margin
Change the setting.

Setting range (initial setting)

Changing the value by one moves
the margin by 0.1 mm for all.
Press the start key.
The new setting
is stored.
Increasing the value using the cursor
up key makes the margin wider.
Decreasing the value using
the cursor down key makes the
margin narrower.
Scanner left margin: 0.0 to +10.0 (+3.0)
Scanner leading edge margin: 0.0 to +10.0 (+3.0)
Scanner right margin: 0.0 to +10.0 (+3.0)
Scanner trailing edge margin: 0.0 to +10.0 (+3.5)
