Troubleshooting

You may experience problems while operating the machine. Take a minute to see if you have a
simple solution to your problem before contacting your local authorized Canon dealer.

Network and Security Problems

A registered key pair cannot be deleted .
Cause
The key pair is currently being used or set as a default key.
Remedy
Access the key and certificate list and check what the key pair is being used for. (See Chapter 3,
"Setting up the Machine for Your Network Environment, " in the System Settings Guide or Chapter
3, "Managing Jobs and Machine Data, " in the Remote UI Guide .) After that, perform the following:
If the key pair is used for SSL:
Disable the Use SSL setting. (See "Restricting the Use of Remote UI, " on p. 15.) After disabling the
setting, retry deleting the key pair.
If the key pair is used for IEEE802.1X authentication:
Register a new key pair and set it as the default key. (See Chapter 3, "Setting up the Machine for
Your Network Environment, " and Chapter 2, "Connecting the Machine to a TCP/IP Network, " in
the System Settings Guide .) The key pair reset to 'Off' can be deleted.

Secure Printing Problems

The machine won't accept my secure print job .
Cause
The job is discarded because the machine has run out of available memory.
Remedy 1
Cancel other jobs, or wait until those jobs are finished, and then send the job again.
Remedy 2
Divide the document into two or more parts, or reduce the resolution, and then try again.
The message <Memory near full . Process jobs (Secure Print, etc .)> appears on the
touch panel display .
Cause
The machine's memory consumption has reached the preset level that triggers an alert message.
Remedy 1
Print out the secured document by entering the appropriate password. If there are any other jobs,
wait until they are finished.
Remedy 2
Adjust the memory consumption level that triggers an alert message. (See "Displaying an Alert
Message When the Available Memory Gets Low, " on p. 21.)
