5. Active Line Indicator
Shows U during active call, or L when call
forwarding is on. To set call forwarding, see

6. Message Indicator
Displays when you receive a new message.
Indicators can include:

r = text message
s = voicemail and text
message
When you enter a message, a number in this location
shows the number of characters left on the current page
(text message), or the message size (multimedia message
or letter).
7. Battery Level Indicator
Vertical bars show the battery charge level. Recharge the
battery when Low Battery displays and the battery alert
sounds.
8. Ring Style Indicator
Shows the ring style setting.
y = loud ring
| = vibrate
{ = silent
t = voicemail message
b = answering machine
z = soft ring
} = vibrate and ring
