Applications (Java™)
In the Applications main view you can open installed Java applications or remove them. In
the Install view you can install new Java applications (file extensions .JAD or .JAR).
Note: Your phone supports J2ME™Java applications. Do not download
PersonalJava™ applications to your phone as they cannot be installed.
When you open Applications, you can see a list of Java applications that have been
installed to your phone. See Fig. 2, p. 112.

Note: Applications can use both Internet access points (IAP) and WAP access
points for data connections. For further information, contact your service
provider or network operator. See also, 'Creating an access point', p. 31. If
possible, it is recommended to use an IAP as it does not limit the size of the Java
applications to be downloaded or the data connections needed by already
installed Java applications.
• Scroll to an application and select Options→
check if there is an update available for the application.

A file containing a
complete Java
application. JAD - A file
containing information
about a Java application.
If only a JAD file is
present, the JAR will be
downloaded during
installation. The
advantage of using a JAD
file is that unnecessary
downloads can be avoided
to start a data
if the device can
recognise from the JAD
that it does not support
the application.
