Setting the Time Code

The camcorder can generate a time code signal and embed it in your
recordings. You can have the camcorder output the time code signal from
the HD/SD SDI terminal (b only) or TIME CODE terminal (b
only; 0 91). In addition, you can superimpose the time code on video
output from the HDMI OUT terminal, HD/SD COMPONENT OUT terminal,
AV terminal or VIDEO 2 terminal. You can also select between a drop
frame and non-drop frame time code.
b To synchronize the camcorder's time code to an external time
code generator, refer to Synchronizing with an External Device (0 89).
Operating modes:

Selecting the Running Mode

You can select the running mode of the camcorder's time code.
1 Open the time code [Mode] submenu.

2 Select the desired option and then press SET.
• If you selected [Regen.], you do not need to perform the rest of this
procedure. If you selected [Preset] and would like to set the time
code's initial value, see the following section Setting the Time Code's
Initial Value.
3 After you select [Preset], open the time code [Run] submenu.

4 Select the desired option and then press SET.
Options
[Preset]:
After you select this option, select a [Run] option. With [Rec Run],
the time code runs only when recording and clips on the same CF
card will have a continuous time code; with [Free Run], the time
code runs regardless of the camcorder's operation. You can also
choose to set the time code's initial value for either [Run] option.
[Regen.]: The time code runs while recording. Use this running mode to
continue with the last recorded time code on the media.
