    Chapter 1 Preparing to Use the USB Modem Adapter Installation Overview Before using the USB Modem Adapter, the hardware and software must be properly configured. Below is a summary of the steps required for proper configuration. This chapter provides details about each step listed below. Plug in the power cord and connect the USB Modem Adapter to a phone line.

Modem: A device for transmitting data over telephone wires by modulating the data into an audio signal to send it and demodulating an audio signal into data to receive it.

    Warranties and Other Product Information Hardware Warranty Mobility Electronics, Inc. (“Mobility”) warrants this product against defects in materials and workmanship that substantially impair the use of the Product to the purchaser for a period of one (1) year from the date of shipment. The purchaser’s sole remedy for this warranty is limited to a repair or replacement of the product, at Mobility’s option.
