    Guide to the appliance Programme label An adhesive label listing the pro- gramme names is supplied with the dishwasher. It should be placed in the indented area next to the programme touch pads. Make sure that the indented area is free of dust and grease.

    Disconnect the appliance from the power supply before servicing (pull out the plug or turn off the circuit breaker). Only install the dishwasher under a continuous countertop which is se- cured to adjacent cabinetry. The dishwasher must be electri- cally grounded.

Each pad can be used alone (level 1) or in combi- nation with the “Top Solo”pad (level 2) to programme the hardness to the valve determined using the Programm- ing Table on the previous page.

    We recommend “Somat” salt (2kg) avail- able from Miele (article no. 21997603). The salt reservoir holds approx. 2 kg (4 lbs) of salt. Inadvertently filling the salt reservoir with dishwashing detergent will damage the water softener.

    “ k” indicator lamp will light, notif- ying you that the reservoir should be re- filled with reactivation salt. Once filled, the dishwasher will automati- cally reactivate the softener when necessary. The “ k” indicator lamp will light up whenever the reactivation process is being performed.

    Adding rinse aid Adding rinse aid The use of Rinse Aid (for example, ® Jet-Dry ) is recommended to prevent spotting on dishes and glassware that normally occurs during the drying phase of automatic dishwashing, as well as to aid the drying result. Inadvertently filling the rinse aid reservoir with detergent always leads to damage to the reservoir.

    Pour liquid rinse aid into the storage container until it is visible on the sur- face of the screen. Do not add any more rinse aid until the H indicator lamp comes on. Only use rinse aid specifically labeled for residential dishwashers. Inadvertently using powder or liquid detergents will damage the rinse aid dispenser.

    Some food items may contain natural dyes that can discolor plastic items in the dishwasher ( e.g. carrots, to- matoes, ketchup, etc.). The stability of plastic items is not affected by this discoloration. It will gradually disap- pear over time.

    Glasses should only be placed in the bottom basket if the special glassware insert is used. Loading the dishwasher The plate inserts on the left and right rear of the lower basket are removable. To remove, push the handles of both in- serts toward the inside of the basket.

    Loading the dishwasher Cutlery tray. To make unloading easier, cutlery can be grouped in zones, one for knives, one for forks, etc. Larger items like sauce ladles, cake slices, long knives and mixing spoons can be placed lengthwise in the trough in the centre of the tray.

    The indicator lamp will go out. Open the door completely and un- load the dishwasher (see “Unloading the dishwasher”). Close the door. If the dishwasher will not be used for an extended period of time, Turn off the water valve.

    Unloading the dishwasher Unloading the dishwasher Dishes tend to break and chip easier when they are hot. Allow the dishes to cool until they are comfortable to handle before unloading them. If the door is opened slightly at the completion of the drying cycle, the dishes will cool much faster.

    Additional features Top Solo (18) When this feature is selected, the ma- jority of the water is directed to the top and middle spray arms of the dish- washer. Its use is recommended when all the dishes and cutlery needing cleaning can be loaded into the upper basket and cutlery tray.

    The dishes will then be dried using the residual heat in- side of the machine. For faster drying, the dishwasher door can be opened 2" - 3" at the end of the programme to allow the moist air to escape.

    If the water in the dishwasher is not completely drained at the end of a pro- gramme, the drain pump or non-return valve may be blocked. To clean them: Remove the combination filter.

    A filter is incorporated in the inlet hose that is attached to the dishwasher’s main shutoff valve. If your water supply is hard, or the pipes contain sediment, this filter may clog and prevent suffi- cient water from entering the wash cabinet.

    Wipe away any residue of food and drink spillage from the sides of the dishwasher door. These are not part of the wash cabinet and are not reached by water from the spray arms.

    Installing the slides. Two slides are included and should be installed on the feet of the dishwasher before the machine is pushed under the countertop. They will allow the ma- chine to slide easier, protect the floor, and allow adjustment of the rear level- ing legs from the front of the machine.

    It is easier to adjust the screw feet if the weight of the dishwasher is not bearing down on them. If possible tip the machine slightly. For fine adjustments it may be necessary to press against the cogs of the feet with a screwdriver.

    The toekick area of the dishwasher is nor- mally covered with a toekick run match- ing the kitchen furniture. The panel overhang (P), and toekick depth of recess (R), determine the maxi- mum dishwasher toekick height (H).

    Electrical connection It is the responsibility of the cus- tomer to ensure that the electrical and plumbing installations are per- formed by a qualified installer in compliance with national and local codes and regulations.
