System Setup WORD CLOCK
• UNLOCK (red)
A valid clock is not being input. If an external device is connected to the corresponding
connector, a clock will not be input or output properly between that device and the RIVAGE
• UNKNOWN (black)
This indicates that the clock status cannot be detected because no external device is
connected or because there is no valid clock input. You will be able to select this connector/
slot, but successful synchronization cannot occur until a valid connection is established.
• If the indicator for the port selected as the clock source has turned light blue, and the clock
frequency appears in the upper left of the MASTER CLOCK SELECT field, this indicates that
the RIVAGE PM10 system is operating correctly with the new clock.
• If the indicator for the selected clock does not turn light blue, make sure that the external
device is correctly connected, and that the external device is set to transmit clock data.
• Noise may occur at the output jacks when the word clock setting is changed. To protect your
speaker system, be sure to turn down the power amp volume before changing the word clock
Master clock select buttons (Internal/External)
Use the buttons to select the clock source that you want to use as the word clock master from
the following options:
• 44.1 kHz
• 48 kHz
• 88.2 kHz
• 96 kHz
The internal clock of the DSP engine (sampling rate: 96 kHz, 88.2 kHz, 48 kHz or 44.1 kHz)
will be the clock source.
• WORD CLOCK IN
The word clock supplied from the WORD CLOCK IN jack on the rear panel of the master
DSP engine will be used as the clock source.
If the unit is initialized to the factory default status, the word clock default value will be set to 96k.

HY SLOT 1 button
Since the slave DSP engine will use word clock on the TWINLANe network as the clock
source, you must select this option for the slave DSP engine.
SUBSTITUTE TWINLANe CLOCKING ON MASTER FAILURE button
(This feature will be supported by a future update.)
While this button is on, if the clock from the master DSP engine is cut off for some reason, the
slave DSP engine will automatically take over as the master.
There are two options for the source. Select one of them based on whether or not the clock is
supplied from another system.
