Defi nition Multimedia Interface input receives

from an HDMI device or uncompressed digital
video from a DVI device. HDMI connection is
necessary to receive 1080p and Ultra HD signals

HDMI 3 is compatible with MHL 1. For use when
connecting to a MHL-compatible device (-
page 45).
8 (1) (Scart input terminal) — For use when
connecting a Scart device or connecting an
RCA device when using a Scart to RCA adapter
(not supplied).

and standard (analogue) stereo audio inputs, or
standard (composite) video and standard stereo

10 ! (power on/standby) — Press to turn the TV
on/ standby (- page 13).
11 2 – + (volume) — These buttons adjust the
volume level.
U u (mode up/down) — These buttons select
programme position or input source.
12 p / o (programme position or input source)
— This button switches to the programme
position or the input source selection. When
external input list is displayed, an input source
can be selected.
13 SD card slot — Used to access video, music, or
photo fi les with SD card.
14 Headphone — For use when connecting a
headphone.
15 O DIGITAL AUDIO (OPTICAL) (output
terminal) — For use when connecting an
amplifi er with optical type digital audio input
(- page 40).

Turning the TV on

Switching on the TV
Connect the power cord to a wall outlet, the
! power indicator lights in red (standby mode).

Press 1 on the remote control or ! on the TV
left side panel, the ! power indicator lights
in green.
NOTE:
If you watch black and white programmes when the
Colour System mode is set to "A" (Automatic), colour
noise may appear on the screen. In this case select the
appropriate Colour System (For the system of each
country or region, refer to pages 16, 57).
Switching off the TV

Press 1 on the remote control or ! on the TV
left side panel to switch to the standby mode.
NOTE:
• When the TV will not be used for a long period of
time, such as during vacation or travel, remove the
power plug from the wall outlet.
• The TV will automatically turn off in 15 minutes
based on No Signal Power Down settings (-
page 27) if no signal is detected.
The TV will automatically turn itself off after
approximately 2 hours if you do not operate the TV
after turned on by on timer function.
• If power is cut off while you are viewing the TV,
the Last Mode Memory function turns on the TV
automatically when power is applied again. If power
is going to be off for a long time and you are going
to be away from your TV, unplug the power cord to
prevent the TV from turning on in your absence.
