- Page 3 99-9401 2004-2006 LAND ROVER FREELANDER Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent an accidental short circuit. Put gear shifter into neutral position then remove shift knob. (Figure A) Unclip and remove gear shifter trim panel. (Figure B) Unclip and remove rear ashtray panel from back of center console.

(Figure E) Remove the screw cover in front of the window switches then remove the (2) screws exposed underneath. (Figure F) Unclip and remove the upper console finisher panel between the a/c vents and radio..
- Page 5 99-9401 2004-2006 LAND ROVER FREELANDER DIN HEAD UNIT PROVISION Slide the DIN cage into the Radio Housing and secure by bending the metal locking tabs down. (Figure A) Slide the aftermarket head unit into the DIN cage until secure. (Figure B) Slide the included pocket into the Radio Housing until secure.
- Page 6 99-9401 FINAL ASSEMBL Y Locate the factory wiring harness in the dash. Metra recommends using the proper mating adapter and making connections as shown. (Isolate and individually tape off the ends of any unused wires to prevent electrical short circuit.) Re-connect the negative battery terminal and test the unit for proper operation.
