3. Carefully place your iPod into the dock. The iPod must not be in a case or “skin”. Installing/Replacing Batteries for Portable Operation The iH17 uses 4 “AA” batteries for portable operation. The iH17 will not charge your iPod while operating on batteries. If sound becomes weak or distorted, it is time to replace the batteries. -
