OFFSET CHIMNEY INSTALLATION

CHIMNEY SECTIONS INSTALLED BETWEEN AN OFFSET AND RETURN REQUIRE STRUCTURAL
SUPPORT TO REDUCE OFF-CENTER LOADING AND TO PREVENT CHIMNEY SECTIONS FROM
THE CHIMNEY SHOULD NOT BE BUILT WITH AN OFFSET ANGLE IN EXCESS OF 45° IN CANADA AND
30° IN USA. DO NOT COMBINE OFFSET CHIMNEY COMPONENTS TO EXCEED THESE ANGLES.
The first flue offset closest to the top of the unit must
be a minimum distance of 12" from the top of the
appliance.
Attach an elbow to the chimney section, angled
toward the offset. Secure with 3 sheet metal screws.
To achieve the minimum offset, attach and secure a
second elbow. To achieve longer offsets, you may
install any available length of chimney pipe between
the elbows. Supports must be used on the first vertical
chimney section after a return elbow.
