IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS

When using electrical appliances, basic precautions should
always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock
and injury to person, including the following:
1. Read all instructions before using this heater.
2. The heater is hot when in use. To avoid burns, do not let
bare skin touch hot surfaces. The trim around the heater
outlet becomes hot during heater operation. Keep com-
bustible materials, such as furniture, pillows, bedding,
papers, clothes, and curtains at least 3 ft (0.9 m) from the
front of the unit and keep them away from the sides and
rear.
3. Extreme caution is necessary when any heater is used
by or near children or invalids and whenever the unit is
left operating and unattended.
4. Do not operate any heater after it malfunctions. Discon-
nect power at the service panel and have the heater in-
spected by a reputable electrician before reusing.
5. Do not use outdoors.
6. To disconnect the unit, turn the controls off, and then
switch off at main power supply panel.
7. Do not insert or allow foreign objects to enter any venti-
lation or exhaust opening as this may cause an electric
shock or fire, or damage to the heater.
8. To prevent a possible fire, do not block air intake or ex-
haust in any manner.
9. All electrical heaters have hot and arcing or sparking
parts inside. Do not use in areas where gasoline, paint,
or flammable liquids are used or stored.
10. Do not modify this heater. Use it only as described in
this manual. Any other use not recommended by the
manufacturer may cause fire, electric shock or injury to
persons.
11. Do not cover or obstruct the air inlet or outlet grille.
12. Ensure the appliance is grounded.
13. Do not use this heater in areas where excessive dust
exists.
14. This heater must not be located immediately above or
below a fixed socket or connection box.
15. This product should be mounted safely to solid wall or
ceiling surfaces only.

Installation Instructions

WARNING: Wiring procedures and connections should
be in accordance with the National Electric code (NEC)
and local codes.
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, do not store or use
gasoline or other flammable vapors or liquids in the vicinity of
the heater.

Mounting Positions

This appliance may be
either wall-mounted or
fixed to a ceiling - see
Figure 2 for various
mounting configurations.
Heaters may be mounted
end to end for wide door-
ways.
Installation
Using the wall mounting
bracket as a guide (Figure
3A) mark off the hole posi-
tions on the wall or ceiling
(Figure 1B). A minimum
height of 1.8metres (6.0 ft) is
required from floor to the
bottom of the heater, and
38.1 mm (1.5 inches)
clearance to vertical
walls (Figure 1). Fix
the bracket in position
by following steps as
described under the
heading 'Wall or Ceiling
Mounting'.
