    Installation Procedures Summary Follow these easy steps to install your switch. The rest of this chapter provides details on these steps. Prepare the installation site. Make sure of the following: • the network cabling is the correct type and length. See page 2-5.

    Testing the Switch by Resetting It If you believe that the switch is not operating correctly, you can reset the switch to test its circuitry. To reset the switch, unplug and plug in the power adapter (power cycling). Power cycling causes the switch to perform its power-on self-test, and almost always will resolve any temporary operational problems.
