Introduction The 1600 Series IP Telephone product line uses Internet Protocol (IP) technology with Ethernet interfaces. The IP telephones supplement the existing Avaya IP Solutions platform. The 1600 Series IP Telephones support DHCP and HTTP/HTTPS over IPv4/UDP which enhance the administration and servicing of the telephones. These telephones use DHCP to obtain dynamic IP addresses, HTTP or HTTPS to download customized settings for the telephones, and HTTP only to download the new software version.
