    Disconnect all other attached cables from the back of the computer. Place the computer face down on a soft flat surface. HP recommends that you set down a blanket, towel, or other soft cloth to protect the touch screen surface from scratches or other damage.

Once pins are damaged it may be necessary to replace the system board.     Outer/Left Rear Panel The outer/left rear panel is secured with two screws. You must pry it off at the seams around the edges of the computer. To remove the outer/left rear panel: Prepare the computer for disassembly (see Preparing to Disassemble the Computer on page 39).
