Preparing the Camera Charging the Battery Pack Use the following procedures to charge the battery pack the first time you use the camera or when the “Change the battery pack” message displays. Insert the battery pack into the battery charger. Align the battery pack according to the arrows on the battery and the charger.

Formatting SD Cards You should always format a new SD card or one from which you wish to erase all images and other data. Please note that formatting (initializing) an SD card erases all data, including protected images and other file types. Press the ON/OFF button until the indicator blinks green.
