    HARDWARE IDENTIFICATION CHART This chart is provided to help identify the hardware used in the assembly process. Place the washers or the ends of the bolts or screws on the circles to check for the correct diameter. Use the small scale to check the length of the bolts and screws.

    ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS Place all parts from the box in a cleared area and position them on the floor in front of you. Remove all packing materials from your area and place them back into the box. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed.
  • Page 8 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 3 Refer to detail view A. Remove the LOCKING KNOB(59) from the SEAT CARRIAGE(5). Place the SEAT CARRIAGE(5) in the U-shaped bracket on the MAIN FRAME(1) and make the Threaded Rod of the SECURING BRACKET(69) go through the hole in the U-shaped bracket, then lock in position with the LOCKING KNOB(59).
  • Page 9 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 6 Attach the SEAT CUSHION(9) to the SEAT CARRIAGE(5) with ROUND HEAD BOLTS(M6x1x15mm) (62) and WASHERS(M6)(63). Attach the BACK CUSHION(60) to the SEAT CARRIAGE(5) with ROUND HEAD BOLTS(M6x1x15mm) (62) and WASHERS(M6)(63). STEP 7 NOTE: The RIGHT PEDAL(31) has R stamped on the end of the pedal shaft. The RIGHT PEDAL(31) has right hand threads and is tightened by turning clockwise.
  • Page 10 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 8 Refer to the inset drawing and the illustration below to connect the TENSION KNOB(8) to the TENSION CABLE(61) and assemble the UPRIGHT(2): 1. Set the TENSION KNOB(8) at position “8”, so the CABLE END extends out of the METAL FITTING as far as possible.
  • Page 11 ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS STEP 9 Attach the HANDLEBAR(10) to the UPRIGHT(2) with BUTTON HEAD BOLTS(M8x1.25x15mm)(55) and WASHERS(M8)(49). STEP 10 Install two AA batteries into the METER(15), the batteries are not included. See page 14 for detailed battery installation instructions. Plug the EXTENSION WIRE(58) and PULSE CONNECTING WIRE(66) into the METER(15), and push the excess wires back into the UPRIGHT(2).

    SET UP INSTRUCTIONS Place the AVARI® Recumbent Bike in the area where it will be used. It is recommended that the AVARI® Recumbent Bike be placed on an equipment mat. The AVARI® Recumbent Bike is approximately 49.6 inches long x 24 inches wide x 39.4 inches tall. (These dimensions may vary up to one inch.)     OPERATIONAL INSTRUCTIONS SEAT ADJUSTMENT Proper seat adjustment is important. 1. Loosen but do not remove the LOCKING KNOB(59) to unlock the SEAT CARRIAGE(5). Slide the SEAT ASSEMBLY forward or backward to adjust the seat, and securely tighten the LOCKING KNOB(59) after adjusting the seat to a new position. Refer to the illustration below. 2.

    3. Verify that all nuts and bolts are present and properly tightened. Replace missing nuts and bolts. Tighten loose nuts and bolts. 4. Verify that the WARNING LABEL(75) is in place and easy to read. Call Stamina Products immediately at 1-800-375-7520 for a replacement WARNING LABEL(75) if it is missing or damaged.

    CONDITIONING GUIDELINES How you begin your exercise program depends on your physical condition. If you have been inactive for several years or are severely overweight, start slowly and increase your workout time gradually. Increase your workout intensity gradually by monitoring your heart rate while you exercise. Remember to follow these essentials: Have your doctor review your training and diet programs.

    WARM-UP and COOL-DOWN Warm-Up The purpose of warming up is to prepare your body for exercise and to minimize injuries. Warm up for two to five minutes before strength training or aerobic exercising. Perform activities that raise your heart rate and warm the working muscles. Activities may include brisk walking, jogging, jumping jacks, jump rope, and running in place.
