    CAN/CSA-E-335-1/3-94, Safety of Household and Similar Electrical Appliances. GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS The C956 or C954 treadmill must be grounded. If it should malfunction or break down, grounding provides a path of least resistance for electric current which reduces the risk of electrical shock.

    C O M M E R C I A L Unpacking the Treadmill Thank you for purchasing the Precor C956 or C954 treadmill. Built to the exacting standards of the health club environment, the treadmill is intended for commercial use and can withstand the rigors of daily club use with little maintenance.

    CAUTION: If you notice that the belt needs alignment, make the adjust- ments at once. Failure to do so might cause the belt to tear or fray which is not covered by the Precor limited warranty. To stop the running belt, press the red Stop button.

    Within 1/2 second, begin pressing the key sequences. If the system does not detect a key press (within 1/2 second) after Stop, it resets to the Precor banner. When you begin entering a key sequence, each key must be pressed within 4 seconds of the other or the Precor banner reappears and you have to begin again.

    Note: The Quick Start program is automatically limited to 30 minutes. However, if a user presses Quick Start at the Precor banner, and the Club program has limited Workout Time to less than 30 minutes, than that duration takes effect.

    E R C I A L KEYS ON THE DISPLAY CONSOLE The Precor treadmills have an easy-to-use keypad that is activated by the slightest touch. Remind users that they only need to apply gentle pressure to these ultra- sensitive keys.

There are no complex instruc- tions to follow or mandatory programming steps required to operate the treadmill.     MANUAL MODE AND THE QUICK START KEY Manual mode (C956 and C954) lets you control the incline and running belt speed which affects the effort you put into your workout. As with other courses, when you complete the time limit set for the course, the automatic cool-down period begins.

    P R O Maintenance The C956 or C954 requires little maintenance to keep it running smoothly and efficiently. However, you, as club manager or owner, are responsible for typical maintenance tasks such as, cleaning the unit to keep it free from dust and dirt accumulation.
