USING TONE DIALING ON A PULSE LINE
Even if you have a pulse line, the fax enables you to use tone dialing
once you've connected to the number you're calling. This lets you
take advantage of many services that require tones, such as selecting
options from telephone "touch-line" services.

Note
When registering One-Touch Speed Dialing and Coded Speed Dialing
numbers, if you enter
*
(TONE)
after the number, you will switch to
tone dialing after the phone connection is made.
Example: 123 4567pppT
After the number (123 4567) is dialed, it will pause for 6 seconds
(ppp) to allow the other party to answer and then it will switch to
tone (T). Now you can follow the instructions that were recorded by
the party you called.
