Using the Phone When it is Connected to a Polycom HDX
System

This section describes how to use your phone when it is connected to a
Polycom HDX system. For detailed information on how to use a Polycom HDX

You can connect your phone to Polycom HDX systems that run software version 2.5
or later. Your phone must run SIP application 3.1.1 or later.
You can perform many of the following phone functions using your Polycom HDX
system's remote control or keypad. For detailed information on how to use the
remote control or keypad, see the user guide for your Polycom HDX system at
www.polycom.com/videodocumentation.
You can set up your phone with a Polycom HDX system so that your phone
can conduct video calls and conferences.
When you connect your phone to a Polycom HDX system, your phone
displays different soft keys:
Video—Allows you to place a video call
Phone—Allows you to place an audio-only call
Content—Allows you to show content to near-site participants, as well as
to far-site participants with whom you are exchanging video.
Add Video—Allows you to establish a conference between yourself, an
active call or call on hold, and the new person you dial. Or, automatically
joins the new person you dial to an active conference.
Add Phone—When an audio-only call is active or on hold, allows you to
add an additional call to your phone. If you have a video call, pressing the
Add Phone soft key automatically creates a conference between yourself,
the video call, and the new person you dial.
When your phone is connected to a Polycom HDX system, there is no New Call
soft key. To initiate a call, press the Video or Phone soft keys. For more information,
