Accessible drives / components
The server has three 5.25-inch bays.You can use these bays as follows:
– You can equip the individual bays with DVD drives or magnetic tape drives.
– Multibay 1: Assembly kit DVD (slimline) + LSD
The Multibay 1 has bays for a slimline DVD drive and the ServerView Local
Service Display (LSD).
The Multibay 1 occupies one accessible bay.
– Multibay 2: Assembly kit DVD (slimline) + LSP/LSD + 2x 3,5" SAS / SATA
HDDs
The Multibay 2 has bays for a slimline DVD drive, the ServerView Local
Service Panel / ServerView Local Service Display and for two additional 3.5-
inch hard disk drives.
The Multibay 2 occupies two accessible bays.
– Multibay 3: Assembly kit DVD (slimline) + 4x 3,5" SAS / SATA HDDs
The Multibay 3 has bays for a slimline DVD drive, and for four additional 3.5-
inch hard disk drives.
The Multibay 3 occupies three accessible bays.
– SAS expansion box SFF HDD: 8x 2,5" SAS / SATA HDDs
The SAS expansion box includes up to 8 bays for the 2,5" SAS / SATA
HDDs.
The SAS expansion box occupies two accessible drives.
Power supply
In its basic configuration level the server has a hot-plug power supply unit
(450 W or 800 W) that adjusts automatically to any mains voltage in the range
100 V - 240 V.
As an option, up to four PSUs of the same type can be configured to create a
redundant power supply. A mix of 450 W and 800 W PSUs is not allowed. If one
power supply unit is defective, the other(s) then guarantee(s) unimpaired
operation. Each hot-plug power supply unit can be replaced during operation
(see the "PRIMERGY TX300 S7⁄ RX350 S7 Server Upgrade and Maintenance
Manual").
