    In case of a power failure, you can light the surface burners on your range with a match. Hold a lighted match to the burner, then turn the knob to the LITE position. Use extreme caution when lighting burners this way.

    How to Select Flame Size Watch the flame, not the knob, as you reduce heat. The flame size on a gas burner should match the cookware you are using. Cookware Aluminum: Medium-weight cookware is recommended because it heats quickly and evenly. Most foods brown evenly in an aluminum skillet.

    OVEN CONTROL, CLOCK AND TIMER Clock The clock must be set to the correct time of day for the automatic oven timing functions to work properly. The time of day cannot be changed during a Timed Baking or Self-Cleaning cycle. Timer The timer does not control oven operations.

How to Set Immediate Start and Automatic Stop To avoid possible burns, place the shelves in the correct position before you turn the oven on.

    NOTE: The low temperature zone of this range (between 150”F. and 200”F.) is available to keep hot cooked foods warm. Food kept in the oven longer than two hours at these low temperatures may spoil.

    Questions and Answers Q. Is it necessary to check for doneness with a meat thermometer? A. Checking the finished internal temperature at the completion of cooking time is recommended. Temperatures are shown in Roasting Guide. For roasts over 8 lbs., check with thermometer at half- hour intervals after half the time has passed.

    Always use the broiler pan and rack that comes with your oven. It is designed to minimize smoking and spattering by trapping the juices in the shielded lower part of the pan. Broiling should always be done with the oven door closed.

    Do not store a soiled pan and rack anywhere in the range. Both the broiler pan and rack can also be cleaned in the dishwasher. Do not clean the broiler pan or rack in the self- cleaning oven.

    CARE AND CLEANING Painted Surfaces The kick panel or storage drawer is a painted surface. Clean this with soap and water or a vinegar and water solution. Do not use commercial oven cleaners, cleansing powders, steel wool or harsh abrasives on any painted surface.

    2. Lift the end of the burner assembly, then pull away from the front of the range to free the air shutter from the gas valve orifice. To remove burned-on food, soak the burners in a solution of mild liquid detergent and water.

    The light bulb is located in the upper right corner of the oven. Before replacing the bulb, disconnect electrical power to the range at the main fuse or circuit breaker panel or unplug the range from the electric outlet. Let the light bulb cool completely before removing it.
