    GETTING STARTED • Position the lap belt across your thighs, below your abdomen. To remove slack in the lap portion, pull up a bit on the shoulder belt. To loosen the lap belt if it is too tight, tilt the latch plate and pull on the lap belt. A snug belt reduces the risk of sliding under the belt in a collision.

Installing The LATCH - Compatible Child Restraint System • Your vehicle's second row passenger seats are equipped with the child restraint anchorage system called LATCH, which stands for Lower Anchors and Tether for CHildren.

    GETTING STARTED • Tighten all three straps as you push the child restraint rearward and down- ward into the seat. Installing The Child Restraint Using The Vehicle Seat Belts • To install a child restraint, first pull enough of the seat belt webbing from the retractor to route it through the belt path of the child restraint and slide the seat belt latch plate into the buckle.

Power Lumbar • Push the switch forward to increase the lumbar support. Push the switch rearward to decrease the lumbar sup- port.
  • Page 22 GETTING STARTED Manual Seat Adjustment Forward/Rearward • Lift up on the adjusting bar located at the front of the seat near the floor and release it when the seat is at the de- sired position. Then, using body pres- sure, move forward and backward on the seat to be sure that the seat adjust- ers have latched.

    GETTING STARTED WARNING! • Adjusting a seat while the vehicle is moving is dangerous. The sudden movement of the seat could cause you to lose control. The seat belt might not be properly adjusted, and you could be severely injured or killed. Only adjust a seat while the vehicle is parked.

    GETTING STARTED • If the High-level setting is selected, the system will automatically switch to Low-level after approximately 55 minutes. The Low-level setting will turn Off automatically after approximately 45 minutes. WARNING! • Persons who are unable to feel pain to the skin because of advanced age, chronic illness, diabetes, spinal cord injury, medication, alcohol use, exhaus- tion or other physical conditions must exercise care when using the seat heater.

    OPERATING YOUR VEHICLE ENGINE BREAK-IN RECOMMENDATIONS • A long break-in period is not required for the engine and drivetrain (transmission and axle) in your vehicle. • Drive moderately during the first 300 miles (500 km). After the initial 60 miles (100 km), speeds up to 50 or 55 mph (80 or 90 km/h) are desirable.

    OPERATING YOUR VEHICLE • With the Speed Control on, push and release the SET+ or SET- button to set a desired speed. • Once a speed has been set a message CRUISE CONTROL SET TO MPH/KM will appear indicating what speed was set. An indicator CRUISE will also appear and stay on in the instrument cluster when the speed is set.

You could accidentally set the system or cause it to go faster than you want. You could lose control and have a collision. The electronic shift lever in this vehicle does not slide like a con- ventional shifter. Instead, the shift le- ver is spring loaded and moves forward and rearward, always returning to the center position after each gear is se- lected.
