CLEANING THESKIEXERCISER
Wipeyourskiexerciser w itha clean, d ry clothafter
eachworkout t oremove perspiration a nddirt.Any
household w indow cleanermaybeusedto clean the
chrome andblackmetal s urfaces aftereachuse.
Wipethewoodwitha clean,dryclothto remove per-
spiration anddirtaftereachuse.Useanywoodfurni-
turepolishor waxto protect t hewoodfinishandpre-
ventdrying.
Thebottoms oftheskismaybecome marked from
contact w iththedriverollers. W ipethemwitha clean,
drycloth.Mineral s pirits will liftstubborn marks. F ora
smooth glidewhileskiing, c arefully rubparaffin wax
onlyonthesidesoftheskis.NEVER polishor wax
the undersides of the skis.Theskidplatesbuiltinto
thesidesof theskisaredesigned toweardownand
leavea lightcoating onthesidesofthewood. T hese
plates do notneedto bereplaced.
LUBRICATION O FTHERESISTANCE PAD
Inspect t hebottom ofthe Pulley. I f theresistance d isk
(located abovetheResistance P ad)hasgrooves worn
intoit, it maybenecessary t oreplace it. Seetheback
ofthismanual for instructions on howtoorderreplace-
mentparts.
CAREFORTHERESISTANCE STRAP AND
FLYWHEEL
Resistance s trapandflywheel m aintenance shouldbe
performed o ncea monthatthesametime.Follow the
stepsbelow.
1. Place a clothor a pieceofplasticunderneath t he
skiexerciser t o protect y ourfloor.
2. Settheski resistance t o thelowest s etting.
3. Slidethe resistance s trapoffthesideofthefly-
wheel.
4. Wipethesurface oftheflywheel witha cleancloth
dampened w ithrubbing alcohol.

However, the padwillrequirere-oiling if it driesdueto
itssurroundings. Werecommend inspecting t he resis- 6.
tancepadeverythreemonths.

(32)with100-grit sandpaper or a file.
3. Spread oneor twodropsoflighthousehold o ilon
the Resistance P ad.DONOTOVER-OIL! Excess
oilmaysprayoutwhenthe Pulley is spinning.
Place a pencil b etween thePulley andthe
Resistance P adandlettheoilabsorb overnight.

Check the groove of the flywheel for any rust or
corrosion.
Use fine to very fine steel wool to spot rub any rust
or corrosion. Clean the entire flywheel with steel
wool if necessary.
Wipe the flywheel with a clean, dry cloth to remove
any residue. NEVER place oil between the resis-
tance strap and flywheel.
This will damage the
resistance strap.
Slide the "U"
Bolt Cover (64)
to the right to
check the
tightness of
the 1/4" Nuts
(67) on the
right side of
the Flywheel
(54). Tighten
the Nuts even-
ly with a
wrench if necessary. CAUTION: Do not overtight-
en the 1/4" Nuts; this can break the "U" Bolt.
