SET-UP
Tire Pressure
Checkthe air pressurein bothtires.The air pressureshouldbe
between15-20PSI.Keep bothtires equallyinflated to help prevent
machinefrom pullingto one side.
Checking
and Adding
Oil
Theengine is shippedwithoutoil in theengine.Youmustfill the
enginewith oil beforeoperating.Runningthe enginewith insufficient
_o can causeserous eng ne damageand vo d the productwarranty.
Initial Use
1.
Removethe oil fill dipstick.
2.
Placethetiller on levelground,usea funnelto emptyentire
contentsof the oil bottle providedwith the unit intothe engine.
3.
Replacethe oil fill dipstickand tighten.
Checkingand adding oil
1.
Placethetiller on a flat, levelsurface.
2.
Removethe oil fillercap/dipstickand wipethe dipstickclean. See
Figure8.

Insertthe cap/dipstickintothe oil filler neck,butdo not screwitin.
4.
Removethe oil fillercap/dipstick.If the levelislow, slowlyadd oil
untiloil levelregistersbetweenhigh (H) and low(L), Figure8.
NOTE: Donot overfill.Overfillingwith oil may causesmoking,hard
starting,or sparkplug fouling.
5.
Replaceand tighten cap/dipstickfirmlybeforestartingengine.
NOTE: DONOTallowoil levelto fall belowthe"L"markon the
dipstick.Doingso may result in equipmentmalfunctionsor damage.
NOTE:Tochangethe oil on yourengine,see the Sericeand
Maintenancesectionof this manual.
Fuel Recommendations
Useautomotive gasoline(unleadedor lowleadedto minimizecombus-
tion chamberdeposits)with a minimumof 87 octane.Gasolinewith
up to 10%ethanolor 15%MTBE(MethylTertiaryButyl Ether)can be
used. Neverusean oil/gasolinemixtureor dirty gasoline.Avoidgetting
dirt, dust,or waterinthe fuel tank.DO NOTuse E85 gasoline.

Refuelin a well-ventilated area with the enginestopped.Do not
smokeor allowflamesor sparksin the areawherethe engineis
refueledor wheregasolineisstored.

Donot overfillthe fueltank.After refueling,makesurethe tank
cap is closed properlyand securely.

Be carefulnotto spillfuel whenrefueling.Spilledfuel or fuel vapor
may ignite.If any fuelis spilled,makesurethe area isdry before
startingthe engine.

Avoidrepeated or prolonged contactwith skinor breathingof vapor.
Adding
Fuel
Useextremecare whenhandlinggasoline.Gasolineisextremely
flammableand thevapors are explosive.Neverfuel the machine
indoors or whilethe engine ishotor running.Extinguishcigarettes,
cigars,pipesand othersourcesof ignition.

Be sureengineis outdoors and in a well-ventilated a rea.
2.
Cleanarea aroundthefuelfill capand removethefuelfill cap.
3.
Usingan approvedred GASOLINE container, a dd fuelslowly,being
carefulto avoidspilling.
4.
Fillthe tank untilthe fuelreaches the "fuelfull" indicator mark.See
Figure9.
