Service Network to have the system
checked.
If only the failure warning light comes on
when the engine is running, it normally
indicates a malfunction of the ABS system
only. In this case, the braking system
maintains its efficiency, but the anti-locking
device cannot be used.
In these conditions the EBD system
may also function less efficiently. Also in
this case, immediately go to the nearest
workshop of the Ferrari Service
Network to have the system checked,
driving in such a way as to avoid sudden
braking.
If the brake fluid warning light comes on,
immediately stop the vehicle and check the
brake fluid level (see
page
100): if the level
is below the minimum level, top up with
the specified fluid and immediately contact
the Ferrari Service Network to have the
system checked.
In fact, any fluid leaks from the hydraulic
system will jeopardize functioning of both
the conventional and the ABS braking
systems.
The system's performance, in terms of active
safety, must not lead the driver to run futile
and unjustified risks.
The driving style shall always be suited to
weather conditions, range of visibility and
road traffic conditions.
The maximum deceleration obtainable is

however always dependent on the tyre grip
on the road. Obviously, if there is snow or
ice on the road, the grip is greatly reduced
and therefore, in these conditions the
braking distance is greater, even with the
ABS system active.
