    3 Gently lift the processor to remove it from the socket. Leave the release lever extended in the release position so that the socket is ready for the new processor. processor socket Replacing the Processor CAUTION: When replacing the processor, do not touch any of the pins inside the socket or allow any objects to fall on the pins in the socket.
  • Page 104 3 Orient the alignment notches on the processor with the alignment tabs on the socket. 4 Align the pin-1 corner of the processor with the pin-1 corner of the processor socket, and then place the processor in the processor socket. Set the processor lightly in the socket and ensure that the processor is positioned correctly.
  • Page 105 5 When the processor is fully seated in the socket, close the processor cover. 6 Pivot the release lever down and place it under the tab on the processor cover. CAUTION: Ensure that the processor cover notch is positioned underneath the alignment post.
