    SAFETY INFORMATION Continued 5. This heater needs fresh, outside air ventilation to run properly. This heater has an Oxygen Depletion Sensing (ODS) safety shutoff system. The ODS shuts down the heater if not enough fresh air is available. See Air for Combustion and Ventilation, page 5.

    AIR FOR COMBUSTION AND VENTILATION Continued Ventilation Air From Outdoors Provide extra fresh air by using ventilation grills or ducts. You must provide two permanent open- ings: one within 12" (30.5 cm) of the ceiling and one within 12" (30.5 cm) of the floor. Connect these items directly to the outdoors or spaces open to the outdoors.
