Symptom:

What you should do:
Find the source and repair. Return the vehicle
to service.
Repair or replace as necessary. If the
mounting bolt torques are low, replace the
gasket.
Replace the fi tting gasket. Inspect inlet
hose and replace as necessary.
Replace gasket or fi tting as necessary to
ensure good seal.
Inspect and repair as necessary.
Go to Test 1 on page A-14.
Reseal bottom cover plate using RTV
silicone sealant.
Replace compressor.
Replace compressor.
Clean compressor and check periodically.
Air dryers remove water and oil from the air
brake charging system.
Check that regular maintenance is being
performed. Return the vehicle to service.
An optional kit (Bendix piece number
5011327 for the Bendix
air dryers, or 5003838 for the Bendix
air dryer) is available to redirect the air dryer
exhaust.
