Using the Knobs to Modify the Sound (SOUND MODIFY)

When you turn a knob, the corresponding setting window will open. The window will close a
short time after you release the knob.
Depending on the settings of the patch, turning a knob might not affect the sound in some cases.
When in split or dual keyboard mode (in Per-
formance mode), these changes will affect
the currently selected part. The part indicated

MODIFY knobs.
■ Modifying How the Volume Changes
(ENVELOPE [ATTACK]/[RELEASE] Knobs)
The "envelope" is the curve that describes how the volume changes from when the instrument begins to
sound until it decays to silence.
You can use these two knobs to modify the attack and release of the envelope in real time.
For details on the envelope, refer to "Modifying How the Volume Changes (ENVELOPE
[ATTACK]/[RELEASE] Knobs)" (p. 58).
Knob
Explanation
Adjusts the time from when you press the key until the maximum level is reached.
[ATTACK]
Turning the knob toward the right will lengthen the attack time, and turning it toward
the left will shorten the attack time.
Adjusts the time from when you release the key until the sound diminishes to silence.
[RELEASE]
Turning the knob toward the right will lengthen the release time, and turning it
toward the left will shorten the release time.
