Welcome to your no-fee GUIDE Plus+™ Interactive Program Guide. The GUIDE Plus+ system lists TV
schedules for your area on-screen and allows your TV direct control of a cable box and VCR.
This Quick Setup sheet contains basic connection information for your new TV and the GUIDE Plus+ system. Please
consult your Television User's Guide for additional connection options and other features.

Connecting a TV and VCR
Use a coaxial cable to connect your cable signal or

    STEP 2: Place the G-LINK Wands The G-LINK wands must be placed in front of the remote control sensors on your VCR and cable box to G-LINK cable enable the GUIDE Plus+ system to work properly with your VCR and/or cable box. Why You Should Use the G-LINK Cable If you require a cable box to supply your television signal, you must properly connect the G-LINK cable in order to use the GUIDE Plus+ system.

The picture of your TV’s back panel describes the jacks on the back of your TV and what types of components that you can connect to these jacks. Cable Box – If your TV is connected to a cable box you must connect the G-LINK cable to receive TV program listings for your area, and to tune directly to a channel when the program guide is on your TV screen.

    Using the TV’s Features Channel Banner There are several indicators that might appear when you press the TV or INFO buttons on the remote. This display is called the Channel Banner. The following list describes the items on the Channel Banner screen (left to right and top to bottom).

    Using the TV’s Features Parental Controls and V-Chip The Parental Controls menu allows you to program your TV so that children cannot see certain programs, channels, or use the front panel controls. The first three choices in the Parental Controls menu involve software inside your TV (referred to as V-Chip) which allows you to block TV programs and movies based on violence, sex, or other content you may believe children should not view.
