➥ While transceiver's power is OFF:
Push to turn power ON.
• Turn the DC power supply ON in advance.
➥ While transceiver's power is ON:
❍ Push momentarily to indicate the connected
power supply voltage.
❍ Push for 1 sec. to turn power OFF.
w AF GAIN CONTROL [AF] (inner control; p. 17)
Varies the audio output level from the speaker.

e RF GAIN CONTROL/SQUELCH CONTROL
[RF/SQL] (outer control; p. 24)
Adjusts the RF gain and squelch threshold level.
The squelch removes noise output from the speaker
(closed condition) when no signal is received.
• The squelch is particularly effective for FM. It is also
available for other modes.
• 12 to 13 o'clock position is recommended for any setting
of the [RF/SQL] control.
• The control can be set as 'Auto' (RF gain control in SSB,
CW and RTTY; squelch control in AM and FM) or
squelch control (RF gain is fixed at maximum) in initial
set mode as follows. (p. 79)
