This update covers updated safety information and changes to this machine since the manual was originally
printed. Keep this update with your Owner's Manual in case you ever need to refer to it. This manual insert
is intended as a supplement—not a replacement for the original manual. In addition to reading this manual
insert, you MUST read and understand the entire original manual for the Model G0456. If you have ques-
tions, contact Tech Support at (570) 546-9663 or by email at techsupport@grizzly.com.
Wear a Face Shield
Due to the amount and size of debris thrown from
all wood lathes during regular operations, we now
recommend wearing a face shield when using
your wood lathe.
WARNING: NO PORTION OF THIS MANUAL MAY BE REPRODUCED IN ANY SHAPE
OR FORM WITHOUT THE WRITTEN APPROVAL OF GRIZZLY INDUSTRIAL, INC.
Large debris may be
thrown from this machine
during regular operation.
To reduce your risk of
injury, wear a full face
shield during all opera-
tions.

Faceplate Turning

Refer to the Faceplate Turning section on Page
22 the original manual, but make sure not to use
flat head screws when mounting the workpiece to
the faceplate (Figure 1).
Using flat head style screws increases the
risk of injury from the workpiece coming
loose during operation. Only use round head
style screws to secure the workpiece to the
faceplate. Round head screws have more
surface area under the head and more reli-
ably secure the faceplate to the workpiece.
Figure 1. Mounting a typical faceplate to a back-
ing block with round head screws.
