    Printer are based on high-quality Kodak photographic printing methods. The color–rendering processes that evolved are highly sophisticated. Using the drivers and export modules will allow you to access advanced printing options based on Kodak color science. The following printer drivers are provided for printers operating in PostScript mode.

    To avoid lines or streaks in your prints, clean the print head before using it for the first time and whenever you replace the ribbon. If your site is particularly dusty, you may need to clean the head more often.

    When the error light glows steadily, you can correct the problem yourself. When the error light flashes, a system error message appears in the display panel. Turn the printer off and then back on. If the message persists, service is required.

    Error messages and how to resolve them Error messages indicate that a problem has occurred. More than one problem can occur at a time. However, only one error message can appear at a time. Messages related to high-priority problems are displayed before lower priority ones.

    Connecting an external hard drive enables you to store ADOBE Type Manager (ATM) fonts (not included) making them permanently accessible to the printer.     2. Disconnect all devices that are connected to the printer with a SCSI cable. 3. Set the SCSI ID for the external hard drive to any ID that is different from the printer’s initiator ID. Refer to the manual shipped with the hard drive for instructions.
