    AUTO SETUP Introduction This receiver employs YAMAHA Parametric Room Acoustic Optimizer (YPAO) technology which lets you avoid troublesome listening-based speaker setup and achieves highly accurate sound adjustments. The supplied optimizer microphone collects and analyzes the sound your speakers produce in your actual listening environment.

    CAUTION Extreme caution should be exercised when you play back CDs encoded in DTS. If you play back a CD encoded in DTS on a DTS-incompatible CD player, you will only hear some unwanted noise that may damage your speakers. Check whether your CD player supports CDs encoded in DTS. Also, check the sound output level of your CD player before you play back a CD encoded in DTS.

    FM/AM TUNING Manual tuning Manual tuning is effective when stations signals are weak. Manually tuning into an FM station will automatically change the reception mode to monaural reception to increase the signal quality. Repeat steps 1 and 2 in “Automatic tuning” to select TUNER and the reception band.
