Press and hold the Mode/Power button until you hear a series of audible tones indicating the radio is on. Mode Functions Operation Intro Operation Customer Warranty While setting channel scan, if you do not press any buttons for Assistance 15 seconds your radio will automatically return to Standby mode on the channel or channel/privacy code displayed before you entered mode functions.
